This 1981 Renault has to be the most menacing we have ever seen. It is the earlier Turbo 1 version, and has recently been performance tuned after sitting in several esteemed collections for the past 20 years. Find it here on eBay in Louisville, Kentucky.
Black might just be our new favorite color for these cars. All of the grilles and vents are masked and the car just looks like a stocky brutish rally car. The Gotti wheels and rear fog are well-matched, and we like the absence for exterior Turbo decals.
The interior features additional AutoMeter gauges and racing harnesses. The car was apparently one of three cars imported for IMSA track use when new, but then plans changed after an accident to one of the other vehicles. The seller’s story seems cohesive, and the car includes documentation.
